Still I Rise ❤️

Welcome back it’s always a blessing that you stopped by. Can I get something off my chest without judgement? This is a safe space right? Okay, great.

At age 22, I was young when I started my journey to climb the cooperate ladder. I saw myself as a woman with power and influence. I knew the life I wanted to live was of prosperity not just financially, but also in my marriage, with my children, and my lifestyle. It wasn’t always an easy road to get there. I had stumbling blocks, people that shot daggers at my dreams, which at times I was unsure of myself. Questions like, "Why are you moving all the way out there by yourself? Can you afford it? It doesn’t make sense? Constant worldly noise and I had to work hard to drown it out to hear God's voice.

How did I do this? Journaling, prayer, and having to phone a friend every now and again. When you feel like your dreams and goals are steadily drifting away and you think you are failing, I would love to share these words-

“Bowed head and lowered eyes? Shoulders falling down like teardrops, Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you? Don’t you take it awful hard’ Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I’ll rise”. - Maya Angelou

I kept rising no matter how many times I fell, was unsure, or not knowing what my next steps would be. I am now in #chapter37 and what I’ve learned over the years is that God truly has a plan for your life. He orders our steps and our job is to be obedient. Proverbs 16:9 tells us “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” In order to keep rising you have to let God lead. He will be there every time to pick you up!

Keep rising!

Be Blessed,
