When the Enemy Tries to Silence Your Voice

There is power in your voice! Say it out loud! "There is power my voice"! The enemy knows it — that’s why he works overtime to silence you. He’ll use fear, insecurity, rejection, and even the opinions of others to make you shrink back. But when God called you, He gave you authority to speak life into dead places, truth into lies, and hope into despair. He's done this to me plenty of times; he makes you think your voice has no value, forces you to believe that it won't matter if you do speak up, or that you are wasting your time. It caused me to keep quiet and often times shrink down; which led me to think internal fallacies about who I am and what I had to say.

I quickly learned, that when you remain silent, the enemy wins. But when you open your mouth, chains break. Can you remember a time that you remained silent, but the words you had to say needed to sound like a trumpet or alarm going off? Now we have to learn the power of discernment of when to speak and when to stay silent and believe me there is a huge difference! My grandmother, God rest her soul used to say "closed mouths don't get fed". I used to wonder, what in the world does that mean gramma? As I grew older, I began to understand she wasn't just saying that you would be missing out on those delicious meals she would often make for nourishment, she was also saying that if you hold things in that need to get out you will starve. You would starve in your feelings, you would starve with your thoughts, and you wouldn't feel full, in fact the silence can make you feel empty. I don't know about you, but I don't want to me empty, or hungry.

Don’t let doubt mute your destiny. Remember, the same God who spoke the world into existence has placed His Spirit inside of you. This blog is a testament to that. I don't know where it will lead, but since God led me to it, I know I will work to do my best to follow and use the voice and words just as Moses to carry out his will.

Today, declare this over yourself: “My voice matters. My words carry power. I will not be silenced.”
